Abstractly, it denotes praise, and mimicry is the highest form of praise. You gain empowerment, means, and direction via the open hand. With the closed hand all you do is shallowly grasp goods (or people) and ward off. Be an open hand. In the English renditions of the Bible, political and cultural factors have caused names and titles to be changed or replaced wholly. The man who wrote this epistle was Judah, half brother of Jesus, brother of Jacob, who wrote the letter entitled James. Judas is the Greek form of Judah. Judah, Judas, and Jude (the English title of this letter) are synonymous. cf. Judas (praise and mimicry) Iscariat (to act as a city man, i.e. to go where the money is the sole decisive issue). comment: churchianity praise betrays The Message (Ο Λογος). }}} May Help, Peace, and Αγαπη be Poured and Crammed into You 1 Judah, oral representative of Jesus Christ (by restraining self and letting God shine through) and brother to Jacob, to those who have been called, αγαπημενοις (perf.) in Father God and treasured up (perf.) in Jesus Christ: 2 May help, peace, and αγαπη be poured and crammbd into you. Subverters (μετατιθεντες) of the Faith Have Slipped In Beside You 3 Making all despatch to be writing to y'all concerning our shared salvation, I had a compellsion to write exhorting y'all to contend for the faith delivered once for all to the separated ones. 4 For certain men have slipped in beside you, these of old have been written for this judgement, impious men transforming the divine influence of our God into incontinent behaviour (not saddled to earth, reality) and denying Jesus Christ, our Sovereign and Master. 5 Furthering this, I want to focus your thoughts. Y'all know it all, that (the) Lord saved people out of Egypt's land (Mitzrayim, dual straits pressuring the body and soul as in a confining straight jacket for conformity to the world system) then loosed off those who didn't trust (Him); 6 Indeed, He has kept those angels who didn't treasure their original position but abandoned their householding in enduring bonds under darkness for a great day's judgment (a decision, as separating one lot from another); 7 Like Sodom (scorching hot passions) and Gomorrah (a ruined heap of stuff) and the cities about them, the similar manner to these, to fornicate and go off to the back of (i.e., follow) other flesh, they are lieing before you to have under evaluation -- an example of enduring fire (i.e., torment). They are Carnal, Unsaved Church Leaders 8 And similarly indeed, these dreamers (unawake to or oblivious to reality, deadened from truth) are polluting flesh -- indeed, unsetting mastery and reviling expressions (of Christ). 9 The archangel Michael, carefully considering when he was discoursing to the devil about the body of Moses, chose not to get into a blasting hot dispute. Instead, he said, "Let the Lord straighten you out." comments (v9) {{{ ~ Michael (Who is as God?) sets an example to follow. Keeping himself under controlled consideration (διακρινομενος), he didn't selfwillfully resolve to impose a decision of blasphemy (blasting with the mouth), i.e. he chose not to get into a blasting hot dispute. Instead, he said, "Leave it to the Lord to admonish (correct) you", i.e. "Let the Lord straighten you out." In direct opposition is the devil (ο διαβολος), the archtype of one casting self (asserting himself) instead of letting God shine through (by yielding to the Spirit of God, that still, small voice). The hard headed devil has no yield at all because he has shut God out. The body of Moses is an allusion to the carnal commandments of the old covenant law to rescue people from their wretched condition of being slaves to their own lusts and desires. Moses - drawing out of the water (of lusts and desires). }}} 10 These, as much as they aren't recognizing blasphemy (blasting with the mouth), as much as they are focusing naturally like unthinking beasts, in these they are being corrupted. 11 Woe to them! They have gone the way of Cain (fabricator of things); They have been drained out in the erratic business of Balaam's hire; (Balaam: wear out and consume the people) They have loosed themselves off in the contrariness of Korah (to make oneself bold, causing happening). 12 These are the ones cheerfully banqueting without fear on sharp rock shards in your devotions, tending themselves (to what and where they feed), waterless clouds brought along by winds, rooted out fruitless end of season trees twice dead (i.e. fruitless and rooted out), 13 untended (hence, wild) waves of the sea sloshing out their own disformations, erratic wanderers to whom shadiness's covering of light has been perpetually kept. 14 Enoch (dedicated), the seventh from Adam, foretold to these, "The Lord came by myriads of His separated ones 15 to do a decision to all and to confute every soul concerning all works of their impiety which they impiously did and about all dry (harsh) hardnesses which irreverent ones with no basis (collaboration of witness) on reality spoke contrary to Him (Christ)". 16 They are whining complainers going on according to their own lusts and their mouth speaks overblown (exaggerated) things, admiring personages for the sake of gain. 17 And you, αγαπητοι, remind yourselves of the words foretold (perf.) by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ 18 that they were saying to you, "At end time, scoffers (invalidating you as children) will be going on according to their own impious lusts." 19 These are those barricading thoroughly off (hence they are controllers of people and are not laity), soulish men, not having spirit (they are unsaved). What You Should be Doing 20 But you, αγαπητοι, building yourselves up in your most separate (i.e. unique) conviction, effusing benifice in a separate spirit (separate from anything of the world system), 21 treasure yourselves in God's αγαπη, taking to hand the help (assistance) of our Lord Jesus Christ for enduring life. 22 Be helping the perplexed (in a quandry), 23 saving others, snatching them from fire (torment), and certainly helping those in fear, though disliking the underwear soiled by the flesh. comments (v23) {{{ ~ The outer garment is Christ -- help them put on Christ! The underwear is the man soiled by the flesh -- who, indeed, you may dislike. A man's understanding of Christ is soiled by his own flesh, which is why we must keep turning to Him for cleaning. The man himself lies beneath all apparel, a spirit being. cf. 1John 2:21 }}} Benediction (Ευλογια) 24 Indeed, in Him who is able to keep you safely growing without flying forward (i.e. cultivate you, keeping you within safe bounds) and is establishing you blameless (in regards) to His expression by spurting up with change (i.e. by much vitality, cf. JN 4:14), 25 in the only God, our saviour (enwrapper around and preserver) through Jesus Christ (Yahweh saves anointed = "I am enwrapping around and preserving anointed") our Lord (controller), (is) expression, majesticness, creative control, and authority before all time, now, and unto all the times, Amen.
