Parallel Books

Now let's return to the bible reading interface. Click on "Read the Bible" or pick a verse with the verse selector. I'm going to use John 3:16 as the example here. Notice in the bottom left how there's an option box with a number of different things in it

These options are basically:

  1. greek - choose another passage in greek to display next to this one
  2. nasb - show the NASB translation
  3. kjv - show the KJV translation
  4. esv - show the ESV translation
  5. tc - textual criticism, shows variant readings in the original manuscripts
  6. bgreek - if you participate on the b-greek emailing list, this shows the greek passage transliterated properly for easy cut/paste
  7. related - this is a fancy option which looks through the whole bible for other verses that it thinks are like this one. very good at finding the LXX in the GNT
  8. user - show your own translation
  9. create - create your own translation...more on this later
  10. sinai - show links directly to the early manuscript Codex Sinaiticus

For our example, select NASB, and then click on the "Add" button

Once you click on add, your screen should now look like the following:

Each of these columns has separate navigation, so you can flip through one and leave the other in the same place. You can add as many of these windows as you have real estate on your screen. You can remove them by clicking on the Hide button in the lower right:
